Are you a parent of a teen or young adult with an intellectual disability? Do you worry about what they will do after they age out of high school? Let's build a community together based on acceptance and inclusion! We are based out of West Des Moines, Iowa. Our goal is to have Thrive Academy become a transitional day program for teenagers and young adults with special needs in the western suburbs of Des Moines! We plan to offer life skills, social skills, and pre-vocational skills in a safe and nurturing environment. There will be a lot of fun along the way, too!
The Thrive Academy mission is to provide young adults with intellectual disabilities the opportunity to learn, work and thrive in a safe and nurturing environment.
We are a grass roots effort led by 3 individuals including a case manager and parents of special needs young adults who are passionate about creating a better future for our loved ones.
